Shaw Brothers: The Stars

The Shaw Brothers were known for putting together good ensemble casts. The Venoms are a prime example and their matching up of Fu Sheng and Chen Kuan-Tai was pretty spectacular as well. The Ti Lung / David Chiang match up is legendary among old school kung fu aficianados. Following hot on their heels is the huge cult following for the cast of the 5 Deadly Venoms. If its one thing the Shaw's knew it was how to show off their stars to best advantage. Nothing like a herd of well built, cute boys roaming about in silk or wrestling in mud...(and people wonder _why_ I love kick flix...sheesh). That and they are just pure poetry to watch.

And then there are the Shaw ladies. Many well known beauties of the 60's and 70's graced the Shaw screen. Chang Pei Pei and Hui Ying Hung kicked and fought their way across the screen. Ivy Ling Po sang in many Chinese opera Films and Lily Li added her charming face to loads of films. I'll be adding more on the ladies shortly.
